Selection of products according to the filling value allows choosing the most appropriate elements of any specific cable route in relation to the number and cross-section of the cables inside the cable tray. To select the products specify the types of cables, from one to four, then provide the number of cables and their diameter.

Filling reserve
The filling reserve restricts the choice of products to these which leave the margin of vacant space in the cable tray equal to or greater than the set value of the reserve.
Example
If the filling reserve is set at 70%, products will be selected for which the filling according to the determined criteria will be no more than 30% (there will be 70% of vacant space left in the tray).

Filling correction
The cross- section of cables in a cable tray or cable ladder shall be calculated as follows:
S = number of cables • ¼ Π • cable cross-section2 • (1 + Filling correction value)
Filling correction = min (0%)
Cable cross- section shall be considered as a square with a side equal to the cable’s diameter. The results of calculation are underestimated -they indicate that actually fewer cables can be fitted in the cable tray or cable ladder section.
Filling correction = max (27%)
Cable cross- section value shall be considered as the field of any specific cable. Free space between the cables will not be taken into account. The results of calculation are overestimated- they indicate that actually more cables can be fitted in the cable tray or cable ladder section.
Note
By default, the correction value has been set at 17%. It is recommended to use the correction value between 7% and 20% - apply the smaller value when the cable tray or cable ladder has been filled with cables of small cross-section, and the higher value, when the larger cross-section is applied. At selection of the correction value other factors should be taken into account, such as the quality of the installation work or susceptibility of cables to heating.
